Mass Effect 4 is Definitely Nothing to do With Shepard

Mass-Effect-3

Complex Spoke with Mac Walters at New York Comic Con this week about the future of the Mass Effect Series. We all know that Bioware are planning another installment in the Mass Effect franchise but it’s been unclear so far as to what this is going to entail. Mac Elaborates on the possible plotlines for the new title in his interview saying: “Well, I can’t get into details, but the idea is that we have agreed to tell a story that doesn’t relate necessarily to any of the Shepard events at all, whatsoever.”

So by the sounds of things the game probably isn’t going to take place during the reaper invasion the original trilogy revolves around. It seems though that even Bioware still aren’t sure what they’re going to do with it, we all know that there is a multitude of stories with already existing lore that the writers could base this title on, let alone anything new they come up with for the universe.

One thing that should put a few worries to rest is just how much care and attention Bioware is paying to this, as was evident from Mac: “Beyond that, that’s what we’ve been deciding for a while. But throughout it all, one of the key things is that it has to be Mass Effect. It can’t just feel like a spin-off. It has to feel like a Mass Effect game at its heart, at its core. Just without the Shepard character or the Shepard specific companions.”

Doesn’t look like we’re going to see much in the way of new info anytime soon then, still, it’s got me excited at the possibilities!
